2021 ⇒Revised the Curriculum Framework as per NEP-2020.

⇒Introduced Restructured Courses (Statistics and Travel & Tourism Management).
2020 ⇒Operation of G-suite account for the institution and domain mail Ids to all the departments for conduct of Online classes during Covid-19 pandemic.

⇒Established SWAYAM-NPTEL local chapter for promoting self learning through MOOCs.
2019 ⇒All India 66th Rank in the category of Colleges by NIRF, MHRD, Govt of India Established Nodal center for Amrita virtual labs.
2018 ⇒All India 35th Rank in the category of Colleges by NIRF, MHRD, Govet of India .

⇒Established Ministry of Education’s Institution’s Innovation Council (MIIC).
2017-18 ⇒Introduced Restructured Courses (Horticulture and Web based Technologies).
2016 ⇒Sanctioned DBT-STAR College status.

⇒Becomes Lead Constituent College of Cluster University under RUSA.
2015 ⇒Inaugurated New Hostel block for Women students.
2014 ⇒Reaccredited with NAAC “A” Grade (3.30 CGPA).
2014-15 ⇒Started Co – Education.
2013-14 ⇒Choice Based Credit System (CBCS) introduced.
2011 ⇒Extension of Autonomous status.
2010 ⇒Conferred “College with Potential for Excellence” by UGC.
2006 ⇒Accredited with NAAC “A” Grade.
2005 ⇒The college becomes Autonomous.
2001 ⇒Introduced Self Financed Courses (Computer science, Microbiology, Biochemistry & Biotechnology).
1972 ⇒Established as Silver Jubilee Government College of Arts, Science and Commerce to mark the 25th Anniversary of Indian Independence.

⇒As a Fully residential men college affiliated to Sri Venkateswara University, Tirupathi.

⇒As a state Institution with admissions open through entrance test for 150 students initially from all the three regions of the state i.e., Andhra, Rayalseema and Telangana duly following the reservation system.

⇒By taking over the buildings of Government college of Education together with the hostel attached.
About Us
Silver Jubilee Government College emerged on the glorious eve of Silver Jubilee Celebrations of Indian Independence in 1972. It is the brain-child of Sri P. V. Narasimha Rao, the Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh then, who wanted to establish a state-wide institution to forge emotional integration of the people of the three regions of the state when its integration was threatened by the separatist movements.
